Acupuncture

Chi is the life force energy within you.  The Chi circulates throughout your body along invisible river-like channels called Meridians.  In some places, the Chi can become dammed up, or lose it’s flow.  This is where the acupuncture points come in.  These points are an area of less resistance and are a gateway to communicate with the interior from the exterior.  The stimulation of the acupuncture point, using pressure, needles, or tiny pellets can bring the chi to the area and help the flow and thus bring the healing energy to the area or for the condition.

Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years.  It was rumored to initially be discovered by a warrior whose hay fever cleared up due to an arrow in the knee.  The Chinese then mapped the meridian channels and the corresponding acupuncture points and identified what the points treat.

Here in the West, we didn’t put much stock in this method of treatment until 1997, when France did a study.  They injected a radioactive dye into an acupuncture point and mapped it’s course.  It traveled the exact path the Chinese had mapped out centuries ago.    Finally, ‘tangible’ proof of this invisible network. Today, acupuncture treatments are sought out by many people for a variety of reasons.

There are over 2,000 conditions which acupuncture can alleviate. Here are a few we’ve performed in the office:
